Memorial

December 16, 2008
Thank you for the continued support, emails, posts, thoughts and prayers. We miss Cody so much, but it is reassuring that he has touched so many lives, and that we have so much love from our family, friends and community.

We are holding a private memorial this weekend for our family only. We will have a community memorial for Cody after the holidays. We, and Cody definitely want everyone to have a peaceful, carefree and loving holiday. Hug each other, love each other and go do something fun for Cody.

After the new year, we hope we will be able to come out of hiding and want help with planning the community service - where, how, what - we’re going to need help sorting that out. We just want to make sure it is something for Cody’s friends, to share memories and to create a tribute to this amazing boy. We are also hoping for ideas on creating some type of memorial or tribute - perhaps a bench at a park, a tree with memorial - we want your ideas, but talk amongst yourselves for now and we’ll touch base soon.

In lieu of flowers, please wait to hear on ideas for a memorial or possibly a non-profit donation. Again, we are going to be thinking this through and welcome your feedback. Some obvious candidates will be donations in Cody’s name for Leukemia or the UCLA Medical Center (PICU), or perhaps some type of memorial in the community that friends can visit (tree, bench, etc).

Thank you for all the love! It is truly amazing how Cody’s story has traveled around and it is so touching to hear from so many of you, from all over the world, old and new friends from afar.
