Park Policy
Just some brief notes on the meeting, I will elaborate more tomorrow, but here is my summary… we met with the Oak Park Advisory Council to make our request about having some type of memorial (perhaps a bench next to a tree) in a local park, local being close to Medea and OPHS. We were not on the agenda, we would need to be put on the agenda for any type of vote, we were part of public discussion. Here is info on the Oak Park Council, if you’re interested in this process:

The next meeting is not for another 2 or 3 months. However, the Council is going to try to get us on the agenda for a meeting next Thursday (1/22), which is actually the Rancho Simi Park District meeting. If we want to get on the agenda, we need to let Larry Peterson know that we are interested. He is the General Manager of the Rancho Simi Park District, his email is larry@rsrpd.us Otherwise, we will be public comments only, which means that we will be up for discussion, but not for vote. The policy is against what we want to do, but policies can be changed, and even the board that covers Simi and OP can be adjusted for just the needs of OP. Anyway, not sure this is worth the fight, but I will keep you posted. Thank you for those attending, amazing things were said and support is appreciated. What a fantastic community! I should hear on Monday if we are on the agenda, in the meantime, if you are inspired, write to Larry and let him know we should be put on the agenda. There are many other things we can do, we just feel that this is the most appropriate way to handle this, for Cody and his dear friends. More later…
