11 PM
I am working and I hear Cody get up and go to the bathroom. He has been sick, coughing over the past few days. No runny nose, no fever, no ear ache, no mucous, just a nasty dry cough. He sees me in the hall, “Hi Daddy - I’m just grabbing my retainer.” He proceeds, hugs me good night, we say “I love you” and off to bed. Two hours later…
