Stimulus & Attitude
December 10, 2008 - UPDATE
Gram & Pop just came in from their visit with an update. They always find the positive in every situation, which makes their companionship so ideal now. They flew out immediately to help with this recovery from NY. Anyway, they were with Cody today for a EEG Stimulus Test. Cody was hooked up to some nasty equipment and stimulated. Cody definitely responded. The doctors did not elaborate on anything at this point, so perhaps we’ll hear something tomorrow morning. Cody also had a guitar player (volunteer) come in and play today. He responded wide-eyed to some of the notes. It was extra-ordinary. Additionally, we heard from our own private neuro-consultant, Dr. Roberts. He said stop worrying about the EEG graphs. They are indicators but are not conclusive in any way. So, lots of little positive signs.
I must also say, we are absolutely feeling the love for Cody and are amazed at the responses, especially by Cody’s classmates and teammates. I say to you, as I say to my children… there is no right or wrong way to deal with this event. You may cry, you may yell (not in school, of course), you may laugh, you may listen to music, you may play, tell jokes, tell Cody stories. You do whatever makes you feel good and do NOT feel guilty about it. Most importantly, what does Cody want you doing? The last thing he wants is everyone sulking, he wants you doing, living, laughing. We will all go through ups and downs on this road, but keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming - and thank you!
